On April 27, 2009, an agreement on the mutual recognition of professional qualifications was signed in Paris by the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec and the Ordre des Experts-Comptables de France as part of the France-Quebec Agreement.
For the past 20 years, a reciprocity agreement between the Ordre des comptables agréés du Québec and the Ordre des Experts-Comptables de France had been in effect. The new agreement expedites and simplifies the chartered accountant qualification process. In regard to the Compagnie Nationale des Commissaires aux Comptes, the Ordre is continuing discussions with its French counterparts to define the application terms and conditions of a future agreement on the mutual recognition of professional qualifications.
