Why make a donation?

As the Ordre intensifies its promotional efforts to interest more young people in the CA profession, the Foundation of Quebec Chartered Accountants (the Foundation) wishes to encourage talented individuals to persevere in their studies so that the profession can retain the best candidates. The Foundation also wants to provide financial assistance to CAs in Ph.D. programs to ensure that enough professors are available to train future CAs. Contributions to the Foundation are used to achieve these objectives.

There are a number of ways to make a donation to the Foundation, and every donation makes a significant difference for your profession.

Include a donation with your annual fee payment

The easiest and most convenient way to make a donation to the Foundation is to pledge an amount directly on the information gathering questionnaire the Order sends you each fall to maintain your registration on the Ordre’s Roll. A section of the questionnaire is reserved for the Foundation; the amount of your donation can be entered in this space and you will be billed at the same time as your annual fees, i.e. in February.

Donations by cheque or credit card

If you would like to pay by cheque or credit card, simply fill in the contribution form and return it to us by mail, fax or e-mail. You can also contact us by telephone at 514 288.3256, ext. 2212.

Planned giving

Planned giving is a fundraising program that involves arranging donations to serve the interests of the registered charity while being adapted to the individual donor’s personal, financial, and tax situation.

Planned giving is often used to create an endowment fund with capital that is maintained permanently to ensure the survival of the charity and the continuance of its activities. An endowment fund may be created through various planned giving techniques and donations, including life insurance policies, bequests and gifts of assets.

If you would like to make this type of donation to the Foundation of Quebec Chartered Accountants, we recommend that you consult your legal and financial advisors to arrange your donation. However, it is essential that you contact us before your will is drafted by a notary, lawyer or financial advisor so that your instructions in regard to the donation are followed.
